Anyone that likes to play with his Carrera race track will love Formula Net. The game is modeled on just these Carrera racetracks. You see a race track before you, on which two cars can race against each other. These cars drive on the known Carrera tracks. You can accelerate using the up arrow. If you want to play with the mouse, use the mouse button to accelerate. Then your car gets faster and races around the track like a real whirlwind. If you let go of the button it slows down. Of course, you have to be careful that you are not going too fast. Otherwise, you will get kicked out of every turn. Interestingly enough, hairpin curves are not so bad because the car has plenty of room to drift. Especially dangerous in Formula Net are the sinks, however. If you are driving down them too fast, you will literally take off at the end of the sink when it goes up the mountain. If that has happened, the game is not over, but your car is inserted on the track again right where it previously left it. But you of course lose a few seconds, while your opponent is already making his next move. Formula Net last for a total of five rounds on five different race tracks. The faster you manage to complete the rounds, the more points you get. Your computer opponent does not move as fast. So you can beat him. But he also drives in a way that is well adapted and will neither kick him out of the curves nor make him take off. As soon as you make a driver’s error, it will thus be hard to catch him again. Formula Net is a great racing game that stays pretty true to reality and is easy as well as fun to play.
